For Our Loved OnesMemorial & Remembrance

Memorial & Remembrance

Remember them beautifully, together.

just as near.

One gentle place for everything a life leaves behind: notes signed like an old yearbook, photos across the years, the obituary, the service details, and a field of flowers from everyone who cared.

How it works

Three steps, and none of them hurried.

You can make the memorial in a few minutes and fill it in over days or weeks. Nothing has to be finished today.

1

Create the memorial

Add their name, their dates and a favorite photo. Choose colors and a layout that feel like them. A short guide walks you through it.

2

Share one link

Text it, post it, print it in the service program. Anyone with the link can open the memorial and add to it. No accounts, no passwords.

3

Remember together

Notes, photos, moments and flowers arrive from everyone who loved them. You can hide or remove anything that doesn’t belong.

What’s inside

Everything a family reaches for, in one place.

The memory book

Signed by hand, like the last day of school.

Friends and family sign a shared page in their own pen, color and handwriting, with a doodle or a sticker. Every signature opens to a longer memory and photos.

  • Signature page, keepsake box, feed or pin-board designs
  • Grouped by family, friends, classmates and coworkers
  • People can edit or remove what they wrote

The timeline

A life, told in moments.

Anyone can add a moment with a year and a photo: a baby picture, a graduation, a road trip, an ordinary Tuesday that meant everything. The timeline grows as people remember.

  • Ages shown beside every year
  • Jump through the decades
  • Photos can be framed so faces are never cut off

The obituary studio

An obituary that reads like a printed program.

Write it yourself, or answer a few gentle questions and let the writing helper shape a first draft. Six designs, a live preview, and pages that turn as you read.

  • Family members named exactly as you list them
  • Long obituaries flow onto more pages
  • Private until you choose to publish

Services & flowers

Where to gather, and a field that grows.

Share service times with directions and add-to-calendar, where to send flowers, or a charity in their name. Every visitor can plant a flower in a field that fills in, one bloom at a time.

  • Livestream links for those far away
  • Eight flowers to choose from

Made to fit them

Seven color themes. Four layouts.

A quiet heirloom page, a profile with an About panel, a structured tribute, a pinned board full of photos, or a yearbook to flip through. Change it any time, and everyone sees the update right away.

For the family

Help with the hard parts, kept private.

A shared to-do list for the days and weeks after: who to call, what to order, what can wait. Invite another family member to help manage. Save every note as a keepsake PDF.

  • Only family managers see drafts and the to-do list
  • Tasks can be assigned, dated and noted

Our story

For Our Loved Ones began with Jan.

Barborah, “Jan” to everyone who loved her, passed away unexpectedly in 2023. This place was built in her memory, so that every family has somewhere beautiful to gather the stories, photos and love a life leaves behind.

Her name carries a meaning we never planned. In Persian, Hindi and Urdu, jaan (جان) means life, soul, and my dearest beloved.

It’s one of the tenderest words there is, and it’s what every memorial here holds: a life, a soul, someone dearly loved.

Dedicated to Barborah “Jan”

Questions

What families usually ask.

Do guests need an account?

No. Only the family member who manages the memorial creates an account. Everyone else opens the link and signs, adds a moment or leaves a flower.

Who can see the memorial?

Anyone you share the link with. Memorials aren’t listed on this site unless the family chooses to show theirs under Recent memorials on the home page, and that can be turned off any time. Obituary drafts, the to-do list and the family settings are visible only to family managers.

Can more than one person look after it?

Yes. Invite another family member with a one-time link, and they can help write the obituary, add service details and look after the memory book.

Can people change what they posted?

Yes. The person who wrote a note or added a moment can edit or remove it from the same device. Family managers can hide or delete anything that doesn’t belong.

Can we keep a copy?

Yes. Every memory book can be saved as a printable keepsake PDF with a cover, the obituary and every note grouped by family and friends.

What does it cost?

Nothing, for every family. Every memorial stays online for as long as For Our Loved Ones exists, with no expiry and no ads. If you’d like more room and family controls such as password protection, Forever is a single $79 payment that never renews.

How long does a memorial stay online?

For as long as For Our Loved Ones exists, on the free plan and on Forever alike. Some memorial sites let free guest books expire unless someone pays; we don’t. We still recommend saving the keepsake PDF now and then, so your family always has its own copy.

Do we have to finish it all at once?

Not at all. Everything saves as you go. Come back tomorrow, next month, or on their birthday.
